CLOSED. Very sad... Stopped by this morning, craving a sandwich and found the sign greeting me.

Best hero's in town. Supposedly this spot is closing. My family and I are going to miss it very much. Tried to get hero's at other sandwich shops like Dougans down the street but it's just not as good. Really going to miss this place.

Every time I've come here I've Never been disappointed!!family owned and operated and you can tell they care about the service and try to keep everything affordable even with the rising prices of food!

Their hero's are dope, original, and now you you know you can't mess with Village Hero.

" I need a HERO, I'm holding out for a HERO till the end of the night....." Bonnie Tyler song, 1984, movie Footloose. I held out for the best HERO/ submarine sandwich/hoagie for way over six decades and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the weight or wait. ( homophone intended, the photo). Say hello to the amazing Village Heros on Jericho Tpke in Syosset, Nassau County NY 11791 exactly 2 miles north and east of exit 41 on the LIE and a 1/2 a mile west of Syosset Hospital. I got the large tuna hero with onions, tomatoes and the 1000 island dressing. I have never seen such a glorious, delicious and gargantuan sandwich. It tasted so good with the perfect tuna salad( generous portion is an understatement)- the Mayo and seasonings absorbed in beautifully, not fishy tasting and on the softest, tastiest, biggest, baddest hero ever! It held the weight of the huge tuna portion magnificently.13 bucks for literally three meals. Love the menu and I got to see a couple of folks sit down and enjoy their Wild Willy ( chicken cutlets, lettuce, tomato and mayo) and the Italian Stallion Bomber ( mortadella, pepperoni, Genoa salami, prosciutto w the works) heros. They both looked just divine and the aroma...! Village Heros literally has about 70 different types of heros - cold, hot, cold cut and the special super combination ones. Full dinner menu as well with seven parmigiana dishes, fish n chips, all types of fried seafood. Open daily Mon to Sat 6:30 am to 2:30 pm with great breakfast specials. I love the fact that I walked in and was out with my lunch in less than five minutes. There were 5 people ahead of me in line but the employees here are super fast, so nice and having fun. Special props to Billy who made my amazing sandwich. They are busy and deservedly so. Inside seating or sit in the car and mangia while ooohing and aaahing over the lovely fare. They share a parking lot with Ralph's Italian Ices with loads of open spaces. Great, fun, delicious experience at Village Heros. Back for breakfast any chance I get.

I used to come here all the time back in the late 80s early 90s. Back then I remember a huge cooler along the back wall filled with exotic imported beers; most of which I'd never heard of. It was the first place I ever tried St. Sixtus Belgian Trappist Ale, for example (a very bad choice considering I had to go back to the office; this stuff is nearly triple the alcohol content of normal beer). The sandwich prices are still reasonably priced and absolutely HUGE. Also on a par (if not better) than the chain sandwich shops that are popping up all over the place. Sadly, the beer selection is gone... on my most recent trip all they had were soft drinks. That certainly doesn't detract from the value of the food they provide... but it does take away one feature that distinguished them from Jersey Mike's, Blimpies, or Subway. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Omg, you want to go back to that time of an old school Italian hero joint? Well, the Village Heros is the place to be! Don't let the ambiance fool you, it's old school and nothing danced but the heroes will blow you away. I ordered the Italian Stallion, omg talk about overflowing. We also had to roast beef and cheese melt that were amazing as well! What a place!

We stopped here for lunch all I can say is wow ! Sandwich's are big an packed with meat, hands down one of the best deli hero's I've had in a long time. If your in the area and hungry this is the spot. You will definitely not be disappointed.

Great luncheon deli. Lots of delicious heroes. I'd say this is a great casual, reasonably priced place for lunch.

First time trying their sandwiches and it was delicious! The bread itself was nice and soft and fresh and the veggies and meat portions are very generous. Definitely filling so can share a hero with your loved ones. Will definitely make the drive to get another fixing in the near future.
